In reply to question by Commissioner Weintraub regarding
start of work on Canyon Park , Mr . Weeks said a contract
will be entered into with Singer & Hodges for working
drawings to be prepared . There are several items to be
completed , such as a property transfer at the entrance ,
access right into the canyon , etc . , but they will not
hold up the planning process and development of the
working drawings . He said it will probably take four
to six months for plan preparation and that work will
probably start in the spring of 1977 .
4 . Other
Commissioner Pound commented that she had been well
impressed by the murals produced by school children at
the Recreation Center . Coffee and
cake will probably be served . A picture of the mural
might be taken and presented with a letter of apprecia-
tion . It was decided to immediately send a note of
appreciation for having the murals completed in time
for the dedication of Red Morton Park .
Mr . Balzarini reported that approximately 2 , 000 persons
had viewed the Art and Flower Show and expressed the
staff ' s appreciation for the excellence of the show .
Mr . Weeks reported that probably within a month or two ,
the Architectural study for the Senior Center will be
completed and will be presented to the Commission for
recommendation to the Council .
MOTION : Commissioner Rollins moved , seconded by Commis -
sioner Pound , that the monthly reports be
accepted . The motion was unanimously carried
by voice vote .
Chairman Knecht reinitiated discussion of the election of officers and
called for nominations for the ensuing year .
