RECREATION DIVISION MONTHLY REPORTS <br /> JULY 1976 <br /> COMMUNITY LEISURE SERVICES <br /> Summer Playgrounds <br /> All seven ( 7 ) sites in operation are doing very well . We anticipate <br /> serving approximately 8 , 000 participants on a drop- in basis this summer <br /> as compared to 6 , 000 last year . <br /> Trips to Searsville Lake , Frontier Village and the San Francisco Zoo <br /> averaged 200- 250 participants for each . <br /> Day Camp <br /> Highly successful for July with all sessions full ( 50 maximum ) . The <br /> current 7 - 9 age groups are enjoying nature hikes , Thursday evening <br /> parents campfire program , and overnight camp outs . <br /> Recently the local 4- H groups were contacted and their efforts in <br /> bringing goats , sheep and rabbits into camp for the children to enjoy <br /> were greatly appreciated . <br /> Wilderness Camp <br /> Attendance for July has been outstanding , breaking all previous records <br /> as followed : <br /> Week of July 6 - 9 : Staff Publicity - City Wide <br /> July 12 - 16 : 70 participants <br /> July 19 - 23 : 58 participants <br /> July 26 - 30 : 42 participants <br /> * average of 56 per session <br /> The program continues to be excellent with many positive comments coming <br /> from participants and parents alike . We have one more week to program <br /> with camp concluding the 1976 season on August 6th . <br /> - 11 - <br />
