This
was a result of the staff review of the plans with the Commission which
resulted in general approval of the project by BCDC. These changes have
now been made in the plans and a final review of the construction drawings
and specifications has been made by the staff together with the consultant
for the project.
Current schedules now call for the plans and specifications to be submitted
to the City Council for approval and for authorization to call for bids on
the 20th of September. If possible, this date will be moved forward to the
13th of September providing the plans and specifications can be prepared
for Council review at this earlier date. The bidding period will be approxi-
mately three weeks which should result in the awarding of a contract for the
construction to comrEnce approximately the middle of October.
Belmont School District Site_ Redwood Shores
The final acceptance of the installation of the turf area and softball
diamond at the Belmont School District Site in Redwood Shores was delayed
in that the turf was not in a satisfactory condition for acceptance by the
City. The contractor was instructed to bring the turf to an acceptable
condition for a final inspection to be held September lst.
In the meantime, arrangements have been made to extend the present back-
stop for greater protection of the adjacent residences. This was a result
of a meeting with the residenl: concerning the potential problem at which
time it was agreed that the backstop extension should be sufficient together
with the planting of some trees and shrubs in the area.
Palm_ Park
The construction of the first phase of development of Pa1m Park is nearly
90 complete.
