' • � ''�` <br /> RECRF/1TlON DIUISION MONTHLY REPORTS <br /> SEPTEIILER 1976 <br /> SPORTS AND AQUATICS <br /> � Co-Ed Softball <br /> On Sunday, Septem6er 12, sixteen teams started playing the Co-Ed Softball <br /> Leagues. Games are played on Sunday afternoons and evenings. Teams <br /> consist of 5 men and 5 women. <br /> Uoubles Tennis Tournament <br /> On September 25 & 26, over 50 teams participated in the Doubles Tennis <br /> Tournament that the Department conducts. The tournament was held at <br /> the Sequoia High School Courts. We conduct four tournaments a year and <br /> each tournament seems to be more popular than the last. Tom Sorenson <br /> was the tournament director. <br /> Soccer Co-Qrdination Meetin <br /> During Se�tember, our Department held a meeting with all the various <br /> soccer organizations in the corranunity and discussed the program for <br /> the cor,i�inc� year. There are 40 youth teams and � a�Jult teams that play <br /> soccer on the fields in Redwood City. <br /> Hoover Swim Pool <br /> During the month of September, we have kept Hoover Swirrrning Pool open <br /> for recreation swimmin� on the weekends. During the summer, as well <br /> as during September, we have found that we totally eliminate vandalism <br /> if the pool is open during the normal swim day. <br /> � Cross Countr Championships <br /> � On November 20, the Redwood Cit F1 ers Tra <br /> Olympic Cross Country Trials inyRedyF9orton Communbty�Park�S�Four hundred <br /> boys and girls, ages 9 through 17, wi11 be competing to qualify •for the <br /> Pacific Regional to be held in December. <br /> •-1?_-� , <br />
