PARKS & RECREATION DEPARTMENT MONTHLY REPORT <br /> DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT <br /> OCTOBER 1976 <br /> Redwood Shores Park Development <br /> Bids for the construction of Dolphin Parks I , II , and III and for the <br /> first phase of Marlin II Park were received October 19 , 1976 . Seven <br /> bids were received and are currently being reviewed prior to recom- <br /> mendation to the City Council for award . Current schedules indicate <br /> thac the review of the bids can be completed so as to request the <br /> City Council for an award of the contract at their meeting of November <br /> 8 , 1976 . <br /> Palm Park <br /> The first phase of construction of Palm Park is now complete . The area <br /> is currently under the maintenance period by the contractor and is being <br /> prepared for final acceptance by the City . <br /> Mezes Park <br /> The construction work for Phase II of Mezes Park is nearly 60% complete . <br /> All underground work has been completed and the new restroom is well <br /> under way . The tennis practice wall is completed and the multi - purpose <br /> court is formed and will be poured the first week of November . The <br /> foundation and floor slab for the new restroom at Red Morton Park , which <br /> is a part of the Mezes contract are complete . The project as a whole is <br /> on schedule and progressing satisfactorily . <br /> Canyon Park <br /> The Design and Development Committee of the Parks and Recreation Commis - <br /> sion met with the landscape architectural consultants , Singer and Hodges , <br /> together with the staff on October 8 , 1976 to review the scope of work <br /> and the various elements which will be included in the first phase of <br /> development for Canyon Park . Preliminary sketches were presented and <br /> the consultant was instructed to proceed with the first phase plans . <br /> This phase will include the site preparation , grading , drainage , irri - <br /> gation , turfing and tree planting for the park area . Current schedules <br /> indicate that this project will be ready to go to bid in February or <br /> March of 1977 . <br /> - 10- <br />
