PARKS & RECREATION DEPARTMENT MONTHLY REPORT DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OCTOBER 1976 Redwood Shores Park Development Bids for the construction of Dolphin Parks I , II , and III and for the first phase of Marlin II Park were received October 19 , 1976 . Seven bids were received and are currently being reviewed prior to recom- mendation to the City Council for award . Current schedules indicate thac the review of the bids can be completed so as to request the City Council for an award of the contract at their meeting of November 8 , 1976 . Palm Park The first phase of construction of Palm Park is now complete . The area is currently under the maintenance period by the contractor and is being prepared for final acceptance by the City . Mezes Park The construction work for Phase II of Mezes Park is nearly 60% complete . All underground work has been completed and the new restroom is well under way . The tennis practice wall is completed and the multi - purpose court is formed and will be poured the first week of November . The foundation and floor slab for the new restroom at Red Morton Park , which is a part of the Mezes contract are complete . The project as a whole is on schedule and progressing satisfactorily . Canyon Park The Design and Development Committee of the Parks and Recreation Commis - sion met with the landscape architectural consultants , Singer and Hodges , together with the staff on October 8 , 1976 to review the scope of work and the various elements which will be included in the first phase of development for Canyon Park . Preliminary sketches were presented and the consultant was instructed to proceed with the first phase plans . This phase will include the site preparation , grading , drainage , irri - gation , turfing and tree planting for the park area . Current schedules indicate that this project will be ready to go to bid in February or March of 1977 . - 10-
