MOTION : Commissioner Buckhout moved to accept the monthly reports , seconded by Commissioner Weintraub . The motion carried unanimously by voice vote . COMMITTEE SCHEDULING Mr . Weeks then discussed with the Commission the possibility of estab- lishing a legislative committee of the Commission . He indicated that this would allow the Commission to take a more active role in communi - cations with the Council Legislative Review Committee and said that the staff would attempt to make as much data available to the Committee as possible . He also said that the Commission would benefit by receiv- ing legislative reports which had received considerable discussions at the committee level . Discussion ensued with respect to the advisability and benefits of establishing such a committee . Commissioner Weintraub suggested that the scope of the Open Space Com- mittee be expanded to include this function . Discussion ensued and Commissioner Weintraub further suggested that perhaps the Budget Com- mittee would be a more suitable home for legislative review . MOTION : Commissioner Weintraub moved , seconded by Commissioner Schlesinger , to add the function of legislative review to the Budget Committee . The motion carried unanimously by voice vote . Commissioner Schlesinger volunteered to fill in at the next Open Space Committee meeting if needed . The meeting was scheduled for Tuesday , November 16th at 4 : 00 p . m . ROUND TABLE Chairperson Pound indicated that she would like to receive the cover letters that go to the Council which refer to actions taken by the Parks & Recreation Commission . Mr . Weeks indicated that there could be some timing problems involved in this as many documents which he submits to the Manager for Council action do not always immediately appear on the Council agenda . He further suggested that this infor- mation might be more readily available through the City Clerk ' s office . Chairperson Pound indicated she would contact the City Clerk and attempt to set up some sort of a procedure with respect to this matter . She also requested if it would be possible for Mr . Weeks to send her copies of letters which go to outside agencies or persons transmitting informa- tion or decisions generated through the Commission . Mr . Weeks indicated that he found no problem with this . MOTION : There being no further business , Commissioner Buckhout moved , seconded by Commissioner Wein- traub that the meeting be adjourned .
