REPORTS : 1 . Operalunch - Fali Series : It was reported that the fall series of Operalunch programs was being scheduled for September 16 , 23 , 30 , and October 7 . It was pointed out that the Down- town Merchants Association had agreed to underwrite this series and pay for the professional artists who would be performing ° Detailed arrangements are being made by the staff with the San Mateo County Arts Council and the Downtown Merchants Association . 20 Multicultural Arts Council Festival and Activities : Commissioner McKay reported that she had attended the Multicultural Arts Council meetings and indicated that their project of painting a mural on the wall of the Fireside Thrift building , across the parking lot from Great Western Savings , was well under way . She indi - cated that she had raised the question of whether or not this project would be presented to the Civic Cul- tural Commission for its review prior to initiating the work . It was responded that since the Civic Cultural Commission was requested by the San Mateo County Arts Council to coordinate the downtown art program in Redwood City , it Mould seem appropriate that this project should be reviewed by the Civic Cultural Commission prior to starting the project . She indicated that it was pointed out to Mr . Burciaga , the artist for the mural , that arrangements should be made sufficiently in advance to allow the presentation
