Swearing in of Phase II Appointees to Boards, Commissions and
Committees - Silvia Vonderlinden, City Clerk
Silvia Vonderlinden swore in the following appointees to the Boards,
Commissions and Committees: Diane Belknap, Giselle Hale, Nancy
Radcliffe, Ken Rolandelli, Karen Schwarz, John Stewart, Victor Torreano,
and Mike Torres.
6. PUBLIC COMMENT
Diane Noriega Weng, Miss Redwood City-San Mateo County, a student at Notre Dame
de Namur, and a resident of San Mateo County, thanked Mayor Jeffrey Gee who
attended the Miss California primary event in Fresno, California. She spoke about the
event, thanked the Mayor for coming to watch her compete in 90-degree weather and for
allowing her to speak. She noted that there were representatives from all counties in
California at the event.
Mayor Gee thanked Ms. Noriega Weng for the report and representing Redwood City and
San Mateo County.
Mayor Gee noted that he had spoken with the City Manager earlier regarding Consent
Calendar item 7.2D and the goal is to have this project moved up sooner and to fix any
administrative issues.
Raymond Bell lives on Alameda de Las Pulgas and spoke in regards to the agreement for
agenda item 7.2D and how it refers to other properties, but said it is unclear on what is
being covered. He said there is no map and opined that the absence of one makes it
unclear.
Larry Gaiotti spoke about the same Alameda de Las Pulgas item and how there was
$200,000 to be used for the sidewalks. He believes the person who bought it should use
it for the sidewalk, the owner needs to build the sidewalk as per the contract, and that to
renege on it is a disservice.
Dr. Bell, City Manager, said that if this is approved tonight, a map could be attached to
this for clarity before an agreement is executed.
One Council Member believes that placing the sidewalks is the right thing and Mayor Gee
believes that is the intention to have the sideway and then to sort out the funding.
CITY COUNCIL: Waive reading of the consent calendar and the full text of ordinances
and resolutions, and approve the Consent Calendar items.
M/S Seybert/Foust to approve the Consent Calendar. Motion carries unanimously by
electronic vote.
1.
