TENTATIVE AGREEMENT BETWEEN 7.2.A. - Page 30 <br /> CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND <br /> SAN MATEO COUNTY FIRE IAFF LOCAL 2400 <br /> RE: SUCCESSOR MOU <br /> 18.8 Maternity-Pregnancy Leave of Absence Without Pay <br /> 18.8.1 nn' }Pregnancy leave of absence without pay or benefits shall be granted upon <br /> request to non - disabled probationary and permanent female employees for that period of <br /> time requested, up to one (1) year._The combination of pregnancy leave and parental leave <br /> will not exceed one (1) year. <br /> 18.8.2 Matcrnitypregnancy leave shall be granted when the following conditions have been <br /> met: <br /> 18.8.2.1 The employee shall notify her immediate supervisor in writing, <br /> pregnancy has definitely - been determined, but no later than ninety (-90) days prior to the <br /> • • . • • avc is to begin. Such notice shall include the tentative dates <br /> • • - . • • ---.An employee who is pregnant shall report her <br /> condition, upon diagnosis and instruction by her physician, to her immediate supervisor, <br /> the Shift Battalion Chief or Personnel Officer. <br /> 18.8.2.2 Within At least thirty (30) days e prior to the beginning of the <br /> maternitypregnancy leave, the employee shall submit to the Human Rcse-u-yees <br /> DirectorPersonnel Officer the specific date she intends to begin the leave, accompanied by <br /> her physician's written statement attesting to the employee's ability to continue performing <br /> the full schedule of her duties and responsibilities. She shall continue on active duty until <br /> the specific date, providing she performs the full duties and responsibilities of her position <br /> and furnishes additional health statements from her physician upon reasonable request. In <br /> the event the employee is unable to perform the full duties and responsibilities of her <br /> position, she shall be assigned to light duty until the specific leave date, and shall continue <br /> to furnish additional health statements from her physician upon reasonable request. <br /> 18.8.2.3 Prior to the establishment of a specific date for return to duty, the employee <br /> shall submit to the Human Resources DirectorPersonnel Officer a notice of intention to <br /> return to duty, accompanied by her physician's statement certifying that the employee is <br /> medically qualified to assume regular duties and responsibilities. <br /> 18.8.2.4 The Human Resources DirectorPersonnel Officer or his /her designee may <br /> designate the specific beginning and ending dates within the pay period requested by the <br /> employee to meet the needs of the employee and the City. <br /> 18.8.3 The employee on leave shall be returned to her original position, or if that position <br /> -, .. If that position has <br /> been eliminated, applicable layoff and reemployment rules shall apply. <br /> 18.8.4 A maternitypregnancy leave, absent physical disability, is granted without pay for <br /> the duration of leave.
