Pregnancy Disability Leave, Family Medical Leave and California Family <br /> Rights Act Leave will run concurrently with Pregnancy Leave as permitted by law. <br /> 18.9 Parental Leave of Absence Without Pay <br /> A male or female employee may be granted, at the Fire Chiefs discretion, a leave of absence <br /> without pay to fulfill parenting responsibilities for up to one (1) year following the child's <br /> birth or one (1) year following the filing of application for adoption and actual arrival of a <br /> child in the home. The combination of pregnancy leave and parental leave will not exceed <br /> one (1) year. <br /> The employee on leave shall be returned to his /her original position, or if that position <br /> • . • .. . - . • • • - . . ..
