7.2.A. - Page 19 TENTATIVE AGREEMENT BETWEEN <br /> CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND <br /> SAN MATEO COUNTY FIRE IAFF LOCAL 2400 <br /> RE: SUCCESSOR MOU <br /> hourly rate. Deputy Fire Marshals who agree to be assigned to Acting Fire Marshal shall <br /> receive the bottom step of the Fire Marshal salary or ten percent (10° /n} above the adjusted <br /> hourly rate. whichever is higher. <br /> 7.13 Uniform Allowance <br /> Fire Fighter /Engineers and Fire Captains shall be paid an annual uniform allowance of <br /> seven hundred twenty dollars ($720.00) effective January 1, 2013. Effective January 1, <br /> 2015, annual uniform allowance shall be increased to seven hundred forty dollars <br /> ($740.00). This amount will be pro -rated for new hires. <br /> The uniform allowance shall be paid on the first full pay period on or after July 1st of every <br /> year for the preceding 12 -month period, and shall be included with the employee's regular <br /> payroll check. <br /> 7.16 Bilingual Differential <br /> An e-Employees who has passed the City's proficiency test and is are assigned to job <br /> dutiesuses requiring bilingual skills in job duties arising in the normal course of work are <br /> shall receive a two and one half percent (2 1/2% )bilingual pay as follows: <br /> First Responder (2.5 %): Demonstrated by the ability to perform conversational speaking <br /> and basic commands and terminology related to emergency response. differential for the <br /> use of these skills in job duties arising during the normal course of work as first responders. <br /> Advanced 50 I Demonstrated b the ability to translate and communicate beyond <br /> conversational s ep akir�g and /or basic writing. Workers who receive the five percent (5 %) <br /> advanced bilin • ual differential are re. uired when called u. on to utilize their skills <br /> citywide. <br /> differential for the use of these advanced skills in job duties arising during the normal <br /> course of work. Advanced bilingual skills, for purposes of the five percent (5 %) pay <br /> sp aldng and /or basic writing. Workers who receive the five percent (5%) advanced <br /> bilingual differential arc required, when called upon, to utilize their skills citywide., <br /> ratification and Council approval .,f a agreeren* <br /> Eligibility for the first responder or advanced bilingual pay differential shall be determined <br /> by the Human Resources DirectorPersonnel Officer on the basis of an oral proficiency test <br /> or an oral and written proficiency test respectively. To retain the 2.5% or 5% differential, <br /> employees will be required to pass the City's bi annual proficiency test once every three <br /> years. <br /> Bilingual skills shall not be a condition of employment except for employees who are hired <br /> specifically with that requirement.
