(See page 3 of the report <br /> of May 30, 1975 of the Director of Public Works. ) <br /> Discussion followed and Mr. Fales and Director of Public <br /> Works Pusich replied to questions concerning the work <br /> presently being handled by the Engineer I whose position <br /> would be eliminated. <br /> The motion carried unanimously by roll call vote. <br /> In response to question, Mr. Fales advised that there is <br /> one vacant position for Construction Inspector for GID <br /> No. 1-64 which it is not anticipated would be filled <br /> until District construction begins. <br /> MOTION: Councilman Norris moved, seconded by Councilman <br /> Rhodes, to eliminate the vacant position of Construction <br /> Inspector. <br /> City Controller Ference advised he will report at the <br /> next Budget session as to the amount which will come <br /> from the General Fund and from GID No. 1-64 regarding <br /> the Construction Inspector position. <br /> onio <br /> The motion carried unanimously by roll call vote. <br /> (The Council recessed from 10 :20 to 10 :30 a.m. ) <br /> Frank Esposito, 2434 Oregon, requested that terms in use <br /> by Council and staff be explained as the audience is un- <br /> familiar with the alphabetical designations often used. <br /> Mr. Esposito suggested the Council should not concern <br /> itself with increases in insurance rates for business <br /> and inquired as to the effect on the tax rate of budget <br /> cuts. <br /> Mayor Weymouth explained that one cent on the City tax <br /> rate is equivalent to about $21,000, and reiterated the <br /> lack of control of the City Council with regard to <br /> assessments and many other matters relating to taxation. <br /> M. L.
