404 <br /> Public Works - Account No. 651 (continued) <br /> (Strategic Consolidated Sewerage Plan) pays for the <br /> pumps with Redwood City bearing only its proportionate <br /> share; the County moratorium on building; the refusal ono <br /> of the City during the past two years to permit sewer <br /> hookups; and the use of septic tanks in County areas. .ter <br /> MOTION: Councilman Henderson moved, seconded by Council- <br /> man Rhodes, to approve Account No. 651. <br /> The motion carried unanimously by voice vote. <br /> (The Council recessed from 3:40 to 3:47 p.m. ) <br /> Public Works Department - Account No. 780 (Parking) <br /> (PP 76-77) <br /> City Manager Fales described the subject account. <br /> It was decided to postpone discussion of Account No. <br /> 780 until the part of the proposed Annual Budget re- <br /> lating to parking meters is before Council. <br /> Park and Recreation Department - Accounts Nos . 701, 710, <br /> 730, and 750 (pp 80-59 <br /> In response to question, City Manager Fales advised that <br /> provision is made for an allocation to the Civic Cultural <br /> Commission for use of staff time and materials, because NINO <br /> it is an additional assignment to the Parks and Recrea- <br /> tion Department. <br /> Discussion followed and Mr. Fales advised that staff <br /> could prepare a report for the subject account similar <br /> to that provided by the Director of Public Works relat- <br /> ing to reductions in service which may or may not be <br /> desirable. Mr. Fales observed that many parttime people <br /> are employed in presenting programs in the Park and Rec- <br /> reation Department and that often the programs produce <br /> adequate revenues to cover their costs . <br /> MOTION: Councilman Rhodes moved that Account No. 701 be <br /> continued pending receipt of the report offered by the <br /> City Manager. <br /> The motion failed for lack of a second with comment <br /> made that all Parks and Recreation accounts should be <br /> continued. <br /> MOTION: Councilman Rhodes moved that $4,562 be deleted <br /> for school yard maintenance since School Superintendent <br /> Wilson has advised him that the schools will maintain <br /> the grounds but can no longer pay a share of after-school <br /> recreation programs . <br /> Mr. Fales advised that this was the first he had heard <br /> of such an offer from Superintendent Wilson and while it <br /> is welcome, he would prefer to have it in writing. <br /> The motion failed for lack of a second. <br /> -11- <br /> i Budget <br /> Study <br /> 5/31/75 <br />
