12 <br /> Parks and Recreation (continued) <br /> In response to request of Councilman Norris, City <br /> Manager Fales advised that in his mention to the Park <br /> and Recreation Commission of the proposed change in <br /> fee for the DAV, he would include that fees generally <br /> might be reviewed. <br /> Capital Improvements Program - General City <br /> City Manager Fales referred to the memorandum from the <br /> Assistant City Manager to the Manager, dated June 4, <br /> 1975, regarding possible reductions in the Capital <br /> Improvement Budget. <br /> MOTION : Councilman Williams moved, seconded by Council- <br /> man Barrett, to reduce the Capital Improvement Budget <br /> as follows : <br /> City Hall remodelling $ 40,000 <br /> Paving of parking lot <br /> behind Police Building 25,000 <br /> Property acquisition for <br /> Civic Center 40 000 <br /> $105,000 <br /> with the funds to be returned to the capital outlay fund. <br /> AMENDMENT TO MOTION: Councilman Rhodes moved to reduce <br /> the Capital Improvement Budget by eliminating $140,000 <br /> for all proposed property acquisition, but not to elimi- <br /> nate paving of the parking lot, making additional re- <br /> duction of $115,000. <br /> The amendment to the motion died for lack of a second . <br /> The motion carried unanimously by roll call vote . <br /> MOTION: Councilman Henderson moved, seconded by Council- <br /> man Leipzig, to reduce the Management Information System <br /> Study by $20,000. <br /> The motion carried unanimously by voice vote. <br /> MOTION: Councilman Rhodes moved, seconded by Councilman <br /> Norris, to eliminate the Phase II Expansion Plan for the <br /> Fair Oaks Community Center at a reduction of the Budget <br /> of $137,000. <br /> M. L. Tepley (see above) suggested that many people using <br /> the Center do not live in Redwood City. Center Coordi- <br /> nator Villasenor advised that about 55% of those using <br /> the Center live in Redwood City with the remaining 45% <br /> living in the County area and that the cost of operation <br /> of the Center has been divided accordingly with the <br /> County. <br /> Discussion followed and Council and staff commented re- <br /> garding the possible desirability of delaying further <br /> - 12- <br /> Budget <br /> Study <br /> 6/7/75 <br />
