31 <br /> It was pointed out that the City Council may not inter- <br /> ject itself in the administration of the City, their <br /> duty being to select a city manager to whom department <br /> heads report. <br /> Chris McKay, 45 Hillview, stated she had enjoyed the <br /> student rider program, observing that it was of benefit <br /> to students to observe police officers on duty. Miss <br /> McKay suggested that since participating students must <br /> sign a release before being permitted to ride in patrol <br /> cars, that perhaps they were not a liability. <br /> Lee Ann Pearce, GAP student, suggested that the students <br /> have occasionally been helpful to officers, and that <br /> while she understands the City' s point of view, she <br /> believed the program to be a valuable one . <br /> Mayor Weymouth told the GAP students present that the <br /> Council and staff had enjoyed working with them during <br /> the school year and expressed his hope that a police <br /> program can be worked out that will be beneficial to <br /> future students while not creating difficulties for <br /> the staff. <br /> (The Council recessed from 8 :45 to 8:55 p.m. ) <br /> Consent Calendar <br /> MOTION: Title having been read, Councilman Henderson <br /> moved, seconded by Councilman Norris, adoption of the <br /> , following ordinance and approval of all other items : <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 1130. 153 AMENDING SECTIONS 3. 1 5.8, <br /> b.8, 7.J, 8.u, 9.8 10.8 32.5 32.7, 41.3, 41.4, <br /> 41.7, 41.8, 42 .3, 43.3, 43.7 , 45. 9, AND 46.7 OF, <br /> ADDING SECTIONS 32 . 16 AND 32 .17 TO, AND REPEALING <br /> SECTIONS 1 .8 AND 1. 9 OF, ORDINANCE NO. 1130, THE <br /> ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> RELATING TO ELIMINATION OF UNUSED DISTRICT DESIG- <br /> NATIONS, LOT COVERAGE IN R-1, R-2 , R-3, R-4 AND <br /> R-5 DISTRICTS, FRONT AND SIDE YARD MODIFICATIONS, <br /> AMENDMENTS, USE PERMITS, VARIANCES, ARCHITECTURAL <br /> PERMITS, AND PLANNED DEVELOPMENT PERMITS <br /> (approved 6/2/75) <br /> Claim: Michael Ellis Mathers by Silverman, <br /> Ballard, Goldstein & Berenstein; property damage <br /> and personal injuries suffered when motorcycle <br /> went off road allegedly due to inadequate warning <br /> and lighting.
