Mrs. Clute stated she appreciated the <br /> privilegei_of attending t the kind of meetings the Council <br /> has conducted on the Budget. Mayor Weymouth thanked <br /> Mrs.,'Clute; for her kind+ and welcome remarks . <br /> t W <br /> Ella Wiggtns, 'office manager for the PROBE Community De- <br /> velopment Center, urged the Council to return to the <br /> Revenue Sharing' funds allocated to PROBE the amount of <br /> $2;683 as originally=allocated-'and- spoke fn support of <br /> Miss Garcia ' s request for funds to hire additional <br /> secretarial help. It was suggested that perhaps volun- <br /> teer -secretarial assistance might be available. <br /> MOTION : .Councilman Barrett moved, seconded by Councilman <br /> Leipzig, to appropriate $4,240 from the unallocated Reve- <br /> nue 'Sharing _funds to permit the Library to purchase an <br /> auto van. <br /> In response to request, City Librarian Vollmayer described , <br /> the library delivery system and the need for a van rather <br /> small than a e to <br /> amount oflibrarymaterials between dthe ybranch olibraries, <br /> the audio=visual department, the technical processing <br /> center, the warehouse and the main library. <br /> - t <br /> Discussion followed and Mr. Vollmayer and Mr. Fales re- <br /> plied to question concerning the kind of equipment now <br /> available; the possibility of acquiring a used van rather <br /> than a new one ; the_desirability of purchasing a good <br /> piece of equipment initially in order to avoid mainte- <br /> nance costs and downtime; and the heavy use of all <br /> library materials. <br /> The motion carried unanimously by voice vote . <br /> (MINUTE ORDER NO. 75-114) <br /> It was pointed out that Revenue Sharing funds were allo- <br /> cated for the van for the Library, and there is no effect <br /> on the property tax rate. r <br /> MOTION : Councilman Rhodes moved that $4,000 of the un- <br /> allocated Revenue Sharing funds be allocated to a fund <br /> for- firemen to take a paramedic degree . <br /> The motion died for lack of a second . <br /> -0- <br /> 1 <br /> Reg.Mtg. <br /> 6/16/75 <br />
