179 <br /> Mayor Weymouth declared open the public hearing on the proposed <br /> amendment at 8.10 p.m. and noted that Affidavit of Publication <br /> of Notice of Hearing is on file in the Office of the City Clerk. <br /> 111 City Manager Fales referred to materials previously provided to <br /> Council by the Planning Department and the City Attorney with re- <br /> gard to the proposed amendment. <br /> Discussion followed and City Attorney Schricker and Mr. Fales com- <br /> mented and replied to questions concerning the enforcement differences <br /> between misdemeanors and infractions, noting that making violations <br /> infractions rather than misdemeanors is intended to be a more practi- <br /> cal approach to dealing with those who violate the Zoning Ordinance <br /> and is more likely to obtain the compliance the City seeks. <br /> Mayor Weymouth invited anyone present who wished to speak to do so, <br /> No one present wished to speak. <br /> MOTION• Councilman Barrett moved, seconded by Councilman Henderson, <br /> to close the public hearing <br /> The motion carried unanimously by voice vote. <br /> The public hearing was closed at 8:29 p m, <br /> MOTION: Title having been read, Councilman Norris introduced the <br /> following ordinance and moved, seconded by Councilman Rhodes, its <br /> approval for first reading <br /> ' ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 50, 5 OF ORDINANCE NO. 1130, <br /> THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> RELATING TO ENFORCEMENT OF THE PROVISIONS OF THE <br /> ZONING ORDINANCE <br /> The ordinance was approved for first reading unanimously by voice <br /> vote. <br /> Councilman Henderson requested that staff report on a quarterly <br /> basis on the enforcement results of the change of process of defining <br /> violations of the Zoning Ordinance as infractions rather than as <br /> misdemeanors, (Memo 11/3/75) <br /> (The Council recessed from 8.30 to 8:40 p.m. ) <br /> Public Hearing - Weed Abatement <br /> Mayor Weymouth declared open the public hearing on weed abatement <br /> at 8.41 p,m, <br /> City Clerk Hildebrand reported that Affidavit of Publication of <br /> Notice of Hearing is on file in the Office of the City Clerk and that <br /> no written communications were received. <br /> Mayor Weymouth invited anyone present who wished to speak to do so. <br /> No one present wished to speak. <br /> -4" <br /> Req.Mtg. <br /> 11/3/75 <br />
