215 <br /> RESOLUTION NO 7523 ESTABLISHING STOP ENTRANCES AT INTER- <br /> SECTION OF ALAMEDA DE ,LAS PULGAS WITH KENSINGTON ROAD, <br /> WASHINGTON AVENUE, BRIARFIELD AVENUE, HASTINGS AVENUE, <br /> CHESTERTON AVENUE, CROMPTON ROAD, CHESHIRE WAY, MADISON <br /> AVENUE, DOVER ROAD, AND WESSEX WAY AND AT INTERSECTION <br /> OF CASSIA AVENUE WITH HILTON AVENUE, AND AT INTERSECTION <br /> OF MAPLE AVENUE WITH CHEMICAL WAY <br /> The motion carried unanimously by roll call vote. <br /> ' Permit for Drilling re Seismic Testing <br /> Mr Fales referred to his report of December 4, 1975 relating to <br /> the request of the United States Geological Survey, Department <br /> of the Interior, for a revocable permit for the purpose of drilling <br /> a hole in conjunction with certain seismic tests. He indicated <br /> that staff would like to add as a condition to the permit a re- <br /> quirement that the City be informed of results of the tests as <br /> they are developed by the U S.G.S He also advised, in response <br /> to concerns expressed by Councilman Norris, that the U S.G.S is <br /> thoroughly familiar with all of the data and extensive material <br /> previously developed for the area, and what they will be attempting <br /> to do is to gather on-site experimental data on a day-to-day basis <br /> at this particular site. <br /> Councilman Henderson, noting that she serves on behalf of the City <br /> as a member of the Strong Motion Instrumentation Program, advised <br /> that any work done by the USG S is of benefit to that Program <br /> without additional cost to it, and thus it is highly desirable to <br /> assist the U S G.S <br /> 1 Mr Pusich, in response to question by Council , described the pre- <br /> cise location of the test site <br /> Councilman Norris asked that a second addendum be incorporated <br /> in the Permit stating that a number of studies have been done <br /> and referencing those studies so that in the future for any <br /> succeeding investigation the record will reflect that extensive <br /> studies have been done in the area <br /> Mr Fales reiterated his earlier request that the Permit have in- <br /> cluded the condition that the City be kept apprised of results of <br /> the tests as they develop <br /> MOTION Title having been read, Councilman Norris introduced <br /> the following resolution and moved, seconded by Councilman Leipzig, <br /> its adoption <br /> RESOLUTION NO 7524 APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF <br /> A REVOCABLE PERMIT TO UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF THE <br /> INTERIOR GEOLOGICAL SURVEY TO CONDUCT GEOLOGICAL STUDIES <br /> ON CERTAIN CITY PROPERTY• and <br /> that the Revocable Permit contain addenda as follows: <br /> -3- <br /> N Reg Mtg <br /> 12/8/75 <br />
