262 <br /> CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS PROGRAM <br /> LEISURE AND CULTURAL FACILITIES (pg. 82) <br /> (considered out of order) <br /> Mayor Biagi announced that in order to accommodate a member of the <br /> audience who is unable to return this afternoon, the Senior Citizens <br /> Center will be considered out of order at this time. <br /> woo <br /> Senior Citizens Center <br /> Cliff Miller, member of the Senior Citizens Advisory Committee, <br /> thanked Council for their diligence and for making staff avail- <br /> able for the project, and offered to answer any questions <br /> from Council . <br /> City Manager Fales and Management Analyst Margolis commented <br /> and replied to questions regarding eligibility for accepting <br /> funds for the Center, that the requirements involved whether <br /> use will go to low and moderate income people, whether fees <br /> will be charged, that part of the funds must be used for <br /> maintenance and remodeling, and the need for a certain amount <br /> of monitoring. <br /> Mr. Miller advised, in response to questions, that he believed <br /> a separate building is necessary in order to provide the in- <br /> tended services, that information and referral services, as <br /> well as all activities, i .e. , health outreach, nutritional <br /> programs that pertain to a senior center will be provided, <br /> that proper scheduling will be required in cooperation with <br /> the veterans, that what is being proposed is really what the <br /> seniors want, and that the center is proposed to be for the '"""" <br /> use of every senior citizen in the City.
