Mr. Woodman <br /> suggested the intended commercial development <br /> might fail, making "Seaport" an undesirable <br /> name. <br /> Pete Hughes, 285 Woodside Drive, stated he be- <br /> lieves the Chamber of Commerce would like to <br /> have a delay of about two months in order to <br /> study the matter, especially as it may relate <br /> to advertising costs. <br /> M/S: Rhodes/Britschgi to continue the subject <br /> Planning Commission recommendation until <br /> September 8, 1980. <br /> Discussion continued concerning the fact that <br /> Lyngso Garden Materials fronts on Harbor <br /> Boulevard and they have stated that a delay <br /> in effective date until 1982 would satisfy <br /> their requirement; the fact that there is <br /> support in the Port area for the name change <br /> because of confusion with Belmont; the fact <br /> that the Port requested the name change last <br /> February; the fact that the matter has been <br /> pending for some time and has been the subject <br /> of a Planning Commission hearing; and the <br /> possible benefits to business if they are aware <br /> as far ahead as possible of an impending street <br /> Po„" name change. <br /> The motion failed by majority voice vote, which <br /> brio Mayor Biagi determined to be 4-2. <br /> Title read: Chandler/Bury to uphold the recom- <br /> mendation of the Planning Commission; and <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING STREET NAME CHANGE RESOLUTION NO. 8631 (effective date <br /> FROM "HARBOR BOULEVARD" TO "SEAPORT January 1, 1982) adopted on the following <br /> BOULEVARD" roll call vote: <br /> Ayes: Councilmen Bury, Chandler, Stangel <br /> and Mayor Biagi <br /> Noes: Councilmen Britschgi, Rhodes <br /> Abstain: Councilman Leipzig <br /> • <br /> City Attorney Schricker stated for the record <br /> that the road is impressed with easement of <br /> public use. <br /> (Councilman Leipzig returned to the Chambers <br /> at 8:48 p.m.) <br /> ■ <br /> Reg.Mtg. <br /> 7/7/80 <br /> Is'" Page 4 ■ <br /> 1" <br />
