(continued) at Heimerhaus, 601 Main Street, owned by Leslie
and Karen Wandel, with the condition that the
fence be well-maintained and dates be estab-
lished for periodic review of its condition,
based on the following findings: that because
of special circumstances as far as the location
is concerned, the granting of the variance will
provide a windbreak for the better economic use
of the property; will not create a special
privilege in that properties in the vicinity
of the subject property have been allowed
fences in excess of the maximum height limit;
that granting of the variance will not be
contrary to the intent of the ordinance; and
that the fence will be required to be main-
tained in a specially sound, visually attrac-
tive condition.
Carried unanimously by roll call vote.
MINUTE ORDER NO. 80-195
REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS
None None
REPORTS OF CITY MANAGER REPORTS OF CITY MANAGER
4. Hoffman, Harcross Road, representing
Tenants and Users Association of Redwood City
Municipal Marina, referred to staff reports
and urged that the proposed ordinance be
amended to require that the $93,860.08 to be
transferred to the Port be used for renewal
of Marina facilities, suggesting that the
money was obtained for that purpose and should
be spent accordingly. He asked that (b) of
the proposed ordinance indicate the funds are
"to be used solely for Marina rehabilitation
and facilities for the direct benefit of the
Redwood City boating public, such funds to be
kept separate from other funds until used for
the purpose specified" instead of permitting
the Board of Port Commissioners to use the
funds at their discretion.
City Manager Fales explained that the Board of
Port Commissioners has already adopted the
Concurrent Resolution; that the proposed
ordinance merely implements that resolution;
that the Board of Port Commissioners has full
discretion as to use of the funds; and that
Mr. Hoffman's remarks would be more appro-
priately directed to the Board.
Discussion followed and Mr. Hoffman, Mr. Fales
and City and Port Attorney Schricker commented
Reg.Mtg.
11/24/80 ' rod
Page 3
