215
AGENDA (continued) ACTION TAKEN (continued)
PUBLIC HEARINGS (continued) PUBLIC HEARINGS (continued)
4. (continued) The motion carried on the following roll call
vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Britschgi, Bury, Chandler,
Leipzig, Rhodes and Mayor Biagi
Noes: Councilman Stangel
In response to request, Mr. Carneghi displayed
his slides relating to alleged benefit to the
City of the BAS plan.
Mr. Fales stated for the record that he has
never met Mr. Carneghi; that the figures are
those of Mr. Carneghi; and that none of the
material has been checked or verified with his
office.
Mr. Trailer then projected slides of a tenta-
tive subdivision map and traffic patterns for
the subject property which were acknowledged
to be irrelevant also.
(Council recessed from 8:45 to 8:55 p.m.)
Discussion followed and Mr. Trailer replied to
questions relating to sewer capacity, lot size,
and the normal step in the annexation process
of requesting prezoning from cities whose
sphere of influence included unincorporated
lands.
Pat Sikora, 165 Atherwood, urged Council either
to leave the land zoned as it is by the County,
since it can be developed in one acre residen-
tial lots, or to prepare a study of the entire
unincorporated area which includes the subject
property and develop an overall plan for it
before any prezoning is undertaken.
Jim Thompson, 2414 Whipple, attorney for the
property owners of the subject land, stated the
land is no longer economically usable for green-
houses. Mr. Thompson urged Council to consider
haw developing a plan for the entire area, including
the subject property, rather than reject the
requested prezoning.
Discussion followed relating to Council concern
regarding sewer capacity; the desire to accom-
modate the needs of property owners in Redwood
City with the limited sewer capacity available;
the need for housing; and the fact that the
present County zoning permits residential use
of the land with one-acre minimum lots.
Mr. Fales cited the appeal letter from Mr.
Trailer, the last two paragraphs on page 6, and
the first three paragraphs on page 7 of the
Environmental Impact, stating for the record
that these citations suggest that granting pre-
zoning would result in an entitlement to sewer
Reg.Mtg.
5/5/80
Page 4
6..
r
r <
