the California Register because it is not individually significant in its current location. <br /> Although the project will not have a significant adverse effect on the historic resource <br /> (the Fox Theatre), the project will take steps to preserve elements of the dressing- <br /> room wing that have been identified to possess character-defining features including <br /> light fixtures, original windows, and doors which will be preserved as part of the <br /> rehabilitation plan for the Fox Theatre and in accordance with the Secretary of the <br /> Interior's Standards for Rehabilitation. <br /> 4 . Section 2 . 1 .4(D ) — Mitigation of Impacts of Development on Properties Adjacent to <br /> Historic Resources: Projects on properties located directly adjacent to an historic <br /> property as designated on the Historic Resources Preservation Regulations Map <br /> shall comply with the following standards and guidelines: <br /> Standards: <br /> a . Each proposed development adjacent to a historic resource that requires a <br /> discretionary approval shall be reviewed by a qualified architect or architectural <br /> historian approved by the City and meeting the Secretary of the Interior's <br /> Professional Qualifications Standards (36 CFR part 6) and by the City's Historic <br /> Resources Advisory Committee for its potential impacts on the adjacent historic <br /> resource , and any site and architectural design modifications identified through <br /> this review process as necessary to avoid a "substantial adverse change" in the <br /> significance of the adjacent historic resource and protect its continued eligibility <br /> for listing on the California Register, as determined by the City, shall be required <br /> as conditions of project approval . <br /> Finding: The proposed project will not impact the five adjacent properties and <br /> nearby properties. The current design does not provide or endorse any <br /> substantial adverse changes in the significance of the East or West Wings of the <br /> Fox Theater, the San Mateo County Courthouse, or the historic commercial <br /> buildings at 2301 and 2317 Broadway. The project has adequate physical <br /> separation and will provide a compatible downtown setting for these significant <br /> buildings. The integrity of these buildings will remain unimpaired. <br /> 5 . Section 2 .7 . 1 (F ) — Height Reductions: <br /> The intent of the height reductions regulations are to preserve the character of historic <br /> streets and to promote appropriate height transitions to historic neighborhoods, some <br /> height limits have been reduced below the typical 8-story maximum of the DTPP. The <br /> portion of the project at the corner of Theatre Way and Winslow Street is subject to <br /> the 3-Story Stepdown Height Zone , which allows for a maximum height of 3 stories/35 <br /> feet. It should be noted that Section 2.7 .2(A)( 1 )(c) allows portions of a building that <br /> extend above the primary building mass, such as dormers, roof-top cupolas, elevator <br /> and mechanical equipment enclosures, roof deck trellises, gazebos, and other similar <br /> features, to exceed the maximum height requirement by no more than 10 feet. <br /> Finding: The portion of the project subject to the 3-Story Stepdown Height Zone is <br /> proposed at a maximum height of 35 feet, and the rooftop cupola and staircase <br /> enclosure is proposed at a maximum height of 45 feet, which complies with Section <br /> ATTY/RES0.3090/HRAC RESO — 815 HAMILTON <br /> REV: 06-02-15 VR <br /> Page 7 of 12 <br />
