refines alternatives to increase safety of this intersection for people walking (particularly <br />for students going to/from Roy Cloud) – there may be additional data collected to inform <br />that effort. <br /> <br />In response to survey feedback, the following changes were made to the evaluation <br />plan: <br />· Replaced Level of Service with average vehicle delay for evaluating congestion <br />· Added traffic volume during AM and PM peak hours for evaluating traffic <br />diversion <br />· Added bus ridership for evaluating complete streets <br />· Added the intersections of Farm Hill/Jefferson and Farm Hill/McGarvey as <br />locations where the number of people walking and riding bicycles are tracked <br />· Added Bret Harte Drive for evaluating traffic diversion <br />· Added locations for surveying people’s perceptions of comfort and safety - bus <br />stops and at Farm Hill and Jefferson intersection. <br /> <br />The proposed evaluation plan is shown in Attachment 3. <br /> <br />Due to the anticipated reduction in traffic for the summer, some preliminary traffic <br />volume and speed data was collected in May, while Cañada College and the Redwood <br />City School District schools were in session. Additional data (such as from surveys of <br />people at Stulsaft Park) will be collected prior to the start of construction as needed to <br />establish the baseline data. Looking ahead, Council should expect to see evaluation <br />information at the following points: <br />· Late summer/early fall 2015 – Summary of ‘pre-pilot’ data <br />· Summer 2016 – Summary of ‘post-pilot’ data <br /> <br />Construction Contract <br />Two (2) bids were received for the Farm Hill Boulevard & Jefferson Avenue Signing and <br />Striping Project on May 14, 2015.
