7.1.J. - Page 14
will be similar to the City standard as recently installed on Marshall Street, with LED fistures.
CONSULTANT will provide photometric calculations to meet the city standard for illuminance
and uniformity for Middlefield Road.
TASK 5 — COORDINATE STREETSCAPE LAYOUT WITH JOINT TRENCH & WOODSIDE PROJECTS
CONSULTANT will input the MUUD undergrounding project conduits, poles, vaults and services
into the Streetscape design. CONSULTANT will prepare and issue a design exhibit to the utility
companies as part of the MUUD design team identifying changes to the MUUD project to
enhance the streetscape project, and to assure cost effective design. CONSULTANT will also
incorporate the Woodside Road design into the layout for Middlefield Road Streetscape
project, which will affect the lane tapers at Woodside Road end of the project.
TASK 6 — COMMUNITY MEETING #2 & PRELIMINARY DESIGN
Under a separate agreement CONSULTANT organized, facilitated and presented at Community
Meeting #1. The scope of work for this agreement will include the work to organize, facilitate
and present at Community Meeting #2.
The goals of workshop #2 is to a) complete collective community participation in project, b)
leave the community with sense they had an opportunity to participate, and c) give design
team direction on remaining key questions to be answered before creating design. There may
be a need for future individual stakeholder meetings to define design and construction process
adjacent to individual properties. The "Key Questions to be Asked and Answered" at
Workshop #2 will require a City staff /design team review of Workshop 1 results and group
discussion of design direction as part of a City staff and Design Team meeting. The group will
identify 2 -4 key questions or key areas of the design where the result would have a significant
impact on the public's experience of the street.
The goal of Workshop #2 is to build on Workshop #1, these questions could either be new
topics or taking past topics to the next level (e.g. choosing amongst three actual proposed
pavements, rather than providing feedback on a wide range of pavement examples. The
Consultant tasks for Workshop #2 preparation include: a) a team design meeting to review
Workshop 1 results, begin to develop design and distill out remaining questions, b) prepare
worksheets illustrating questions to be posed, c) print a Base Map (same as Workshop 1 with
any desired refinements), d) brief Introductory PowerPoint Presentation, e) Outreach to
Workshop 1 attendees, and f). Meeting logistics (space, food, etc.). Workshop #2 does not
require or call for a draft plan.
TASK 7 — 65% PLANS, SPECFICIATIONS & ESTIMATE
Following Workshop #2, the civil engineer will prepare and submit a resolved project layout of
the project design to the City. Five copies of the refined layout will include curbs, bike lanes,
parking, crosswalks, tree locations, light poles, buffer zones, ramps, and bioretention locations.
After a City review period, Consultant will meet with City staff to review the comments from
the Workshop #2 and to review the project layout prior to commencing the 65% design.
