Because the dressing -room wing includes some character - defining <br /> features, and constitutes an extant portion of the original historic resource, some level of <br /> documentation would be appropriate. HABS /HAER is not "proportionate" to the level of <br /> significance found within the one -story back wing of the Fox Theater. Digital photo <br /> documentation is now considered acceptable for National Register nominations that will <br /> be archived with the National Park Service, and are explained in the National Register <br /> Photo Policy Factsheet <br /> (http: / /www.nps.gov /nr /publications /quidance /Photo Policy final.pdf). This policy <br /> defines acceptable camera types, the process of taking photos, preparation of digital <br /> images, burning images to archival disks, and labeling requirements. It also explains how <br /> to print the images and selecting paper and inks. It is recommended that the original <br /> dressing room plan and materials be documented in a digital report. The report should be <br /> filed by the authors with the California Historical Resources Information System (CHRIS) at <br /> Rohnert Park, while additional copies could be provided to local archives such as the <br /> Redwood City Public Library History Room or other appropriate repositories if required. <br /> d. Retain and reuse the historic resource to the maximum feasible extent and continue <br /> to apply the Standards for Rehabilitation to the maximum feasible extent in all <br /> alterations, additions and new construction. <br /> Analysis: The bulk of the historic resource, including all of the original main wings and <br /> much of the original dressing -room wing, are proposed to be retained and reused in this <br /> project. The Standards appear to be met. <br /> e. Through careful methods of planned deconstruction to avoid damage and loss, <br /> salvage character - defining features and materials for educational and interpretive <br /> use on -site, or for reuse in new construction on the site in a way that commemorates <br /> their original use and significance. <br /> Analysis: Remaining character - defining features of the building are shown in the plans to <br /> be retained and appropriately reused within the historic resource as part of the larger <br /> rehabilitation project. <br /> ARCHIVES & ARCHITECTURE <br />
