Vice Mayor Howard reported that the Palo Alto Junior League recently honored the <br /> Redwood City Friends of the Library for their volunteer efforts on behalf of the Redwood <br /> City Library. Also, a Redwood City resident, Jenina Manawil, who volunteers at the <br /> Roosevelt Elementary School in Redwood City, was honored for her volunteer work in <br /> establishing a library at Roosevelt Elementary. <br /> MEMO 4/23/96 <br /> Vice Mayor Howard said that Redwood City was mentioned in an article, USA Weekend, <br /> for the City's efforts at Hoover School on "Make a Difference Day" and was a winner on <br /> the State and Local level. The honor may include a cash award. If so, the money would <br /> be donated to Hoover School. <br /> MEMO 4/23196 <br /> B. Councilman Ruskin said the Council Streets Committee was moving along with the <br /> Broadway Sidewalks improvement project. The architect's options would be presented <br /> Wednesday, 2-5 p.m., in the Library, at a joint meeting of the Council Streets Committee <br /> and the Architectural Advisory Committee and was open to the public. Councilman <br /> Ruskin invited everyone to attend the public meeting of the Council Streets Committee on <br /> Broadway Sidewalks improvement project Friday, 7:30 a.m. at the Court House Coffee <br /> Shop. Mayor Hartnett said he had been a late arrival at the Council meeting due to his participation <br /> in the awards ceremony for the Kennedy School Honors Program in the Stanford University <br /> Memorial Auditorium.
