�,�.,I`� <br /> Service Leapue of San Mateo Countv - Emerqencv Material Assistance Proqram <br /> The Service League provides programs and resources that promote positive <br /> change in individuals and their families involved in the Criminal Justice System. <br /> The Emergency Material Assistance program addresses the needs of Redwood <br /> City residents recently released from San Mateo County jails, their immediate <br /> families, and the families of those who are in custody who reside in Redwood <br /> City. $18,000 was requested to help Service League provide the basic needs of <br /> food, clothing, transportation, and temporary shelter to those who qualify. <br /> Rape Trauma Services - Sexual Assault Services Proqram <br /> Rape Trauma Services of San Mateo County strives to eliminate all forms of <br /> violence, with a special focus on sexual assault and abuse. The Sexual Assault <br /> Services Program goal is to provide information, resources, and support to <br /> sexual assault survivors and their loved ones. The program's activities include a <br /> 24-Hour Hotline for victims of sexual violence, advocacy, counseling, and <br /> information and referrals. $10,000 was requested to support this program in <br /> Redwood City. <br /> SUPPORTIVE SERVICES FOR SENIORS AND DISABLED RESIDENTS <br /> Casa de Redwood — Better Livinq for Seniors Proqram <br /> Casa de Redwood provides low and moderate income elderly persons with <br /> housing facilities and services, specially designed to meet their physical, social, <br /> and psychological needs and to promote their health, security, happiness, and <br /> usefulness. The Better Living for Seniors program provides educational, social <br /> and recreational activities to enhance senior's lives. The program includes <br /> English as a second language classes, exercise classes, and trips to the <br /> museum, zoo, and theatres. $10,000 was requested to support the BetterLiving <br /> for Seniors program. <br /> Familv Service Aqencv — Senior Connections (Adult Computer Classes) Fair <br /> Oaks Interqenerational Center <br /> Family Service Agency (FSA) is dedicated to the well being of individuals, <br /> families, and the community throughout San Mateo County. FSA operates the <br /> Fair Oaks Senior Center located at the City's Fair Oaks Community Center. The <br /> Senior Connections program readies older job seekers for employment through a <br /> classroom training course in basic job-related computer skills and office <br /> techniques on the computer, followed by intensive job development, job search <br /> and job placement services. The program also provides a computer lab from <br /> which seniors can communicate with distant relatives and friends, and research <br /> health information and other resources that can support their ability to live <br /> independent and healthy lives. $15,000 was requested to support operations of <br /> the senior connections program. <br /> 2 <br />
