CID <br /> offers a variety of services including: client assistance program; housing <br /> accessibility modification; financial benefits counseling; information and referral; <br /> community education and outreach; advocacy; Shopping Assistance for <br /> Someone who is Homebound (SASH); and volunteers in money management. <br /> $8, 000 was requested to help CID provide client services to Redwood City <br /> residents. <br /> Ellipse Peninsula AIDS Services <br /> Ellipse is committed to assisting individuals in San Mateo County who are HIV- <br /> infected, their family members, loved ones and friends. Through a mix of <br /> comprehensive and professional and volunteer support services, Ellipse assists <br /> its clients to maintain their fullest possible employment, productivity, and <br /> participation in the community. $30,000 was requested to support the case <br /> management, support services, and emergency frnancia/ assistance for their <br /> Redwood City clients. <br /> Familv Service Aqencv of San Mateo Countv — Senior Case Manaqement and <br /> Advocacy —� <br /> The Family Service Agency Senior Case Management and Advocacy program <br /> provides a bilingual Spanish-speaking case manager who helps seniors who <br /> participate in center activities and seniors in the community connect with <br /> community resources, both public and private, so that they can maintain their <br /> independence and well-being in the community. $20.000 was requested to <br /> support the case management services for Redwood City residents. <br /> Ombudsman Services of San Mateo Countv Inc <br /> Ombudsman Services of San Mateo County, Inc. promotes standards of <br /> excellence in advocacy and enhancement of the quality of life for residents of <br /> long-term care facilities in the county. Through their program, long-term care <br /> ombudsmen monitor the facilities and receive complaints made by or on behalf of <br /> the residents; they investigate and bring resolution to those complaints. $10,000 <br /> was requested to support the provision of Ombudsman Services in Redwood <br /> City. <br /> SUPPORTIVE SERVICES FOR YOUTH <br /> Communitv Education Center (CEC) <br /> The CEC, a nonprofit (licensed child care center), multicultural preschool <br /> program in Redwood City, provides a positive pre-school experience in English <br /> 4 <br />
