Bob Diaz, 969 Third Avenue, Redwood City, Friendly Acres Neighborhood, discussed too many cars being parked inappropriately creating an eyesore, and suggested the City L- hire a special officer just for parking enforcement. Mr. Diaz also suggested more City/County cooperation and more use of County inmates for clean-up projects. Keith Daum, 563 Scott Avenue, Redwood City, noted improvement in shopping cart abatement, and discussed the number of cars parked on the street belonging to one household. Mr. Daum suggested Council look at restricting the number of unrelated people who could reside in one household. He also suggested property owners/tenants be biIIed if City incurs costs cleaning-up their property. Arturo Samayoa, 555 Scott Avenue, Redwood City, agreed that overcrowding causes severe parking problems, and asked that all City flyers be printed in Spanish as well. Dennis Pantano, 546 Oak Park Way, Redwood City, member of San Mateo County Association of Realtors, Southern Division, spoke in favor of more vigorous code enforcement citing the beneficial impact on the whole City. He said he and his Association would fully support all educational programs and described SMCAR's efforts to release accurate school test scores to the public and realtors. In answer to Council questions, he suggested code enforcement efforts be directed at residential properties where the highest level of frustration resides. Lori Herman, 3550 Jefferson Avenue, Redwood City, advised that in Menlo Park ~ there was no on-street residential parking between 2 a.m. to 5 a.m., and that resolved many parking problems. Pete Hughes, 18 Admiralty, Redwood City, thanked everyone for the great meeting and so much information. He volunteered himself and his wife for code enforcement projects to beautify the City. Ralph Garcia, 129 Poplar, Redwood City, expressed frustration with the ugly and iIIegal signs throughout the City, and suggested photos of business properties be submitted before a business license is issued. Susan Keely, 766 Canyon Road, Redwood City, expressed concern regarding the subjectivity of what is acceptable and what is not regarding violations of the City's Code. She expressed support for vigorous enforcement of obvious violations such as signs, weeds and abandoned cars.
