<br /> ----- ----- <br /> Councilwoman La Berge agreed that the Council should preview the Planning <br /> Commission's process of review of land use in the entire Port area, and expressed <br /> support for the goals of the review project - the highest and best long term use of land <br /> in Redwood City. She encouraged communication between the Mayor and the <br /> Chairman to establish guidelines for this review project. <br /> MEMO 10/22/96 <br /> Mayor Hartnett called upon members of the audience who wished to speak to this <br /> Issue. <br /> Paul SanfIlipo, former Redwood City Council Member, 138 Woodsworth, Redwood <br /> City, asked what is the vision for Urban Reserve areas held by the Council and the <br /> Planning Commission? Chairman Bursak said the subject review project would <br /> encompass those lands as well. <br /> Councilman Claire said there have been recent Port land use studies, and expressed <br /> his support of Councilwoman La Berge's comments. Councilman Claire said the <br /> Planning Commission has a duty to consider land uses in all areas of the City as well <br /> economic development and encouraged the Planning Commission to move forward in <br /> concert with the Port Commission. Councilman Claire reiterated his support for a very <br /> successful Port operation, and its protected revenues. <br /> Councilman Claire asked that the Planning Commission work with the Housing and <br /> Human Concerns Committee to review and consider an issue brought to the Council <br /> from residents of Redwood ViIIage - overcrowding due to more than one family living <br /> in a one family residence.
