"Section 1302. (a) General. Buildings or parts of <br /> buildings classed in Group H because of the use or character <br /> of the occupancy shall not exceed, in area or height, the <br /> limits specified in Sections 505, 506 and 507. <br /> " (b) St�ecial Provisions. Group H occupancies more than <br /> two stories in height or having more than 3,040 square feet <br /> of floor area above the first floor or basement shall be of <br /> not less than one hour fire-resistive construction throughout. <br /> " (c) Basements or cellars having a ceiling height of <br /> not more than eight feet above grade shall not be included <br /> as a 'story' in computing the permissive height of Type V <br /> apartment houses unless such basement or cellar is designed <br /> or used for living or sleeping purposes. <br /> "For attic space partitions and draft stops, see <br /> Section 3205." <br /> SECTION 8. Section 1303 of the Building Code is hereby <br /> amended to read as follows: <br /> "Section 1303. For fire-resistive protection of exterior <br /> walls and openings, as determined by location on property, <br /> see Section 504 and Part V. <br /> "EXCEPTION: Exterior wall openings of Type V, Group H <br /> apartment buildings located in Fire 2one No. 2 and a11 "R" <br /> Zone Districts (as such districts are defined by the Redwood <br /> City Zoning Ordinance) may be unprotected provided the dis- <br /> tance to the property line is not less than f ive feet; and <br /> further provided that the sum of the width of such openings <br /> shall not exceed 30 per cent of the total length of the wall <br /> in each story." <br /> SECTION 9. Section 1409 of the Building Code is hereby <br /> amended to read as follows: <br /> -4- <br />
