"Section 23.52 Every permanent employee of the City <br /> shall, within three months subsequent to the termination <br /> of his probationary status pursuant to the Personnel Rules <br /> and Regulations of the City of �edwood City, establish and <br /> maintain residence within the area described in Section 23.54. <br /> Every officer or permanent employee who is not subject to <br /> any probationary period, other than members of any board <br /> or commission appointed by the Council, shall establish and <br /> maintain residence within the area described within <br /> Section 23.54 within six months subsequent to the date of <br /> his employment by the City. <br /> "Section 23.53 The City Manager may extend the three <br /> month period specified in Section 23.52 by additional periods <br /> not to exceed a total additional period of three months. <br /> Such extensions may be granted by the City Manager if he <br /> , f inds that an undue hardship would be caused an employee <br /> if the employee were required to establish residence within <br /> the period otherwise provided for. Any extension granted <br /> shall be in writing and a copy shall be submitted to the <br /> Personnel Board. <br /> "Section 23.54 The areas in which employees shall <br /> maintain residence are as follows: <br /> " (a) In any area within the corporate Ca.ty limits as <br /> the City limits now exist or as they may hereafter <br /> be extended. <br /> " (b) In those areas outside the corporate li.mits of <br /> , the City but contiguous to the City limits which <br /> are designated on the map set forth in Section 5 <br /> of Ordinance No. 1006, a copy of which is on <br /> file in the office of the City Clerk. <br /> " (c) In any parcel of property contiguous to the areas <br /> described in (a) and (b) above where the area <br /> boundary consists of a public right of way. <br /> -11- <br />
