in the Code of Redwood City, (2) Ordinance No. 623, referred to in Section 9.3 of the Code of Redwood City shall not be repealed and shall remain in full force and effect together with all amendments thereto, and (3) 5ection 5 of Ordinance No. 1006 shall not be repealed and shall continue in full force and effect for the purposes of Section 23.54 of the Redwood City Code. �ECTION 5. Penalty. Whenever in the Redwood City Code any act is prohibited or is made or declared to be unlawful or an offense, or the doing of any act is required or the failure to do any act is declared to be unlawful or a misdemeanor when no specif ic penalty is provided therefor, the violation of any such provision shall be punished by a f ine not exceeding F ive Hundred Dollars ($500.00) or i.mprisonment for a term not ex- ceeding six months� or by both such fine and imprisonment. Every day any violation shall continue shall constitute a separate offense. SECTION 6. Savings Clause. The repeals provided for in �ection 4 of this ordinance shall not affect any offense or act committed or done or any penalty or forfeiture incurred or any contract or right established or accruing before the effective date of this ordinance; nor shall such repeals affect any ordi- nance or resolution providing for the payment of money or author- izing the issue of any bonds of the City or any evidence of the City's indebtedness or any contract or obligation assumed by the City; nor shall it affect the annual tax levy; nor shall it affect any right or franchise conferred by ordinance or resoluti.on of the City on any person or corporation; nor shall it affect any ordinance relating to the salaries of the City off icers or employees not contained in the Code hereb�r adopted; nor shall it affect any ordinance annexing territory to the City; nor -13-
