REPORTER'S TRANSCRIPT OF PROCEEDINGS TAKEN 5-24-04
particular, traffic along 101 and numerous
I 2 intersections along 101. Water supply impacts,
'whatever you give to the Marina Shores Village will
be taken necessarily from any development you'd
want to put downtown. School impacts, and, of
course, the San Carlos airport impacts. Open
space, there's not enough open space provided in
the development. And so those folks are going to
look for open space in other parts of Redwood City,
parks that are already very well used. Of course
bayfront impacts to aesthetics, wetlands and
wildlife, which cannot be mitigated.
And all of this for 1930 luxury condos with
i,
provisions for less than 100 low income units. And
while that's very commendable and 200 moderate
income units, also very commendable, I know in my
college at San Jose State, a new professor would
not be able to qualify for one of those moderate
income units, they come in under $50,000 a year and
I don't think they'd qualify.
And so I doubt they would qualify for the
luxury units.
So I think if we want our waterfront to --
also the aesthetic impacts, if we want our
waterfront to look like Hong Kong or move in the
UCCELLI & ASSOCIATES 114
(650) 952-0774
--
