REPORTER'S TRANSCRIPT OF PROCEEDINGS TAKEN 5-24-04
1 will - - it will surely get worse.
( 2 And projects such as this that rely on trip
3 generation rates that have development patterns
4 that have extremely high trip generation rates, are
5 not going to help solving the problem.
6 At the Planning Commission meetings that we
7 attended to comment on the project, one of the
8 commissioners indicated that perhaps the ferry or
9 the Dunbarton rail project might provide some
10 transit benefits as part of this project. The
11 ferry will certainly capture a few residents of the
12 project, but Dunbarton rail will require these
13 people to drive to stations to access it, which
i
14 puts more people on the freeway.
15 And SamTrans is unable, both for lack of
16 operating funds and other limitations to be able to
17 meaningfully serve this project.
18 And so I don't - - I don't see that this
19 project can be effectively served by transit at
20 this location.
21 From strict -- strictly a traffic
22 perspective, sticking with the current zoning
23 would - - would be desirable, however, rezoning the
24 property for housing at -- at a proper density also
\ 25 makes sense.
UCCELLI & ASSOCIATES 117
(650) 952-0774
.'-
