So I actually had to scramble and ask <br />4 the staff members to make a copy for me. <br />5 I'd like to go ahead and present the <br />6 petition to you. <br />7 Thank you. <br />8 MAYOR IRA: Mr. Daum, have you spoken with <br />9 our traffic engineer, Rich Heywood yet? <br />10 MR. DAUM: Yes. I've spoken with him and I <br />11 feel that our street is a street that should be <br />12 taken out of the ordinary context. We're not an <br />13 average street because it is much narrower; if you <br />14 consider what the average car widths are, we <br />15 already have to park on our sidewalks just so we <br />16 can pass back and forth. <br />17 Just tonight we had a car going by at 45 <br />18 miles an hour, and it still accelerated by my <br />19 house, and I live about halfway down the street. <br />20 So what we're asking is for a special consideration <br />21 by the Council, to allow us (inaudible). <br />22 MAYOR IRA: Okay. Well we'll actually turn <br />23 that over to the City Manager who will direct it to <br />24 Rich so that he can bring a report back to Council. <br />25 MR. DAUM: Okay.
