REPORTER'S TRANSCRIPT OF PROCEEDINGS TAKEN 5-24-04
pedestrian friendly way.
( 2 COUNCIL MEMBER BAIN: I'm more than halfway
through my questions, my initial questions.
One of the issues that's come up a few
times and Mr. Ridner, while you're on hot seat
here, the issue of diverting the airport noise to
neighborhoods like Centennial or Redwood Shores,
what can we put in place to stop that from
happening?
MR. RIDNER: Well, I think you have to
segregate the issues between - - between the
southbound pattern, which would be those
overflights effecting our project and those in the
(
northbound direction, which would be effecting
Redwood Shores. To lump them together I think is
probably not a correct type of analysis.
The -- the flight pattern, whether our
project was built or not, there would be no reason
why the flight pattern to the north would -- should
change or would change as a result of our project.
As far as the project, flights to the
south, which, by the way, represent 20 percent of
the total traffic, in terms of take-off direction.
We are not in any way trying to encourage through
our discussions with the county any sort of
UCCELLI & ASSOCIATES 151
(650) 952-0774
'.
