REPORTER'S TRANSCRIPT OF PROCEEDINGS TAKEN 5-24-04
addressed to our building department, in terms of
how that's done during the building plan review
process. But the developer submits his design
calculations, they're reviewed by our in-house
structural engineers to see how the structure is
designed to perform in an earthquake.
So it's done through building permit review
process.
COUNCIL MEMBER HARTNETT: I -- I take it
there's some - - there's a heightened review in a
project like this, this isn't building a house on
my block. Are you familiar with the extraordinary
kind of review that might take place in a project
I
like this?
MR. LYNCH: Not personally, because from my
engineering department, City engineering, we don't
do that, our building department does.
MR. EVERETT: Let me speak to that John.
On a project this large where there's very,
very technical either earthquake safety,
geotechnical issues, hydraulic, we contract that
out. So there are - - there a;re codes that we've
adopted and -- and we will probably have a
consultant on this helping us with all of those
issues, because they're very, very technical.
UCCELLI & ASSOCIATES 166
(650) 952-0774
--
