REPORTER'S TRANSCRIPT OF PROCEEDINGS TAKEN 5-24-04
well, then you didn't - - so is that 20 -- is that
footage a finite?
MR. BOTTOMLEY: Yes. But more is allowed.
COUNCIL MEMBER RUSKIN: That's what I
thought.
MR. BOTTOMLEY: But it's subject to
discretionary review by the Planning,Commission.
MR. EVERETT: And you guys, yeah.
COUNCIL MEMBER RUSKIN: But I still think
it might be good to give some more emphasis to --
to that discretion.
MR. RIDNER: Let me add one point to that.
The genesis of the 25,000 came about as a
(
result of our discussions with the city staff. We
started off at 12,000 square feet and staff thought
that moving to 25,000 might be beneficial in terms
of trying to create more of a retail community hub.
We're not at all convinced that there is going to
be adequate retail demand to port 25,000 square
feet, so to the extent that the City Council felt
compelled to want to restrict us in some way on the
retail development, we would - - we would certainly
be supportive of that, as long as it didn't
negatively effect our trip generation numbers as a
result of having some local serving retail uses.
UCCELLI & ASSOCIATES 200
(650) 952-0774
.-
