<br /> REPORTER'S TRANSCRIPT OF PROCEEDINGS TAKEN 5-24-04 <br />1 240 feet, which is really one of the tallest <br />2 buildings along the Peninsula. <br />3 There's some concern about school impacts. <br />4 Even though there was an independent consultant's <br />5 report that concluded that the project would really <br />6 generate very few school-aged children, the Redwood <br />7 City School District has requested that the City <br />8 work to designate a certain site in the area, and <br />9 also to contribute toward bussing costs. <br />10 In addition to that, there is the concern <br />11 about density. The density is higher than what is <br />12 normally allowed in Redwood City; however, we have <br />13 to remember, in order to create active and good <br />14 places, a higher density is really what's needed. <br />15 Urban design is an issue in the sense that <br />16 at each phase it's going to come back before the <br />17 City for further review and making sure it's <br />18 consistent with the Precise Plan. <br />19 A~d, of course, there's the issue of water <br />20 supply. And I want to ~mphasize that we have told <br />21 the developer and it's clear that there's no <br />22 guarantee of water for this project.
