REPORTER'S TRANSCRIPT OF PROCEEDINGS TAKEN 5-24-04
the airport's noise abatement procedures outline
( 2 specific arrival and departure routes to alleviate
noise in these sensitive sites. These procedures
were developed over a span of several years and
involved a significant investment of time and
effort on the part of neighboring residents, the
San Carlos airport and the Airport Pilot's
Association.
Prior to the enactment of these procedures,
planes would depart from the southern end of the
runway and turn west directly over our
neighborhood, because of the low attitude of the
planes, the noise was intolerable.
¡
Current noise abatement procedures for
southern departures direct aircraft to proceed due
south, directly over the Marina Shores Village
project site, before embarking on a westward route.
From our experience, we know noise
complaints from residents in Marina Shores Village
are inevitable, especially since the significantly
high residential buildings effectively lowers the
altitude of the planes.
A resident of our neighborhood first voiced
concerns over airport impacts in written comments
on the draft Environmental Impact Report in April
UCCELLI & ASSOCIATES 77
(650) 952-0774
-.
