This parking demand accounts for parking by player/parent, referee/umpire, and spectators. <br />As observed in the field, many parents choose to drop-off and then pick-up their children, while others choose <br />to carpool. Therefore, actual parking demand at Mitchell Field after dusk is expected to be much lower than <br />115 vehicles. <br />Assuming a worst case scenario that the project generates a 115 vehicle parking demand, the existing <br />parking facilities are still capable of servicing this demand. It is thus expected that parking would not spill over <br />to neighborhood streets in front of residences. <br />Conclusions <br />This study was conducted for the purpose of analyzing potential traffic and parking impacts related to the <br />proposed installation of field lighting at Mitchell Field within Red Morton Community Park in Redwood City, CA. <br />The key findings and recommendations of this study are summarized below: <br /> The installation of field lighting at Mitchell Field is expected to add 1.5 to 5.25 hours of operational <br />playing time, depending on the month of the year. <br /> The project is estimated to decrease Mitchell Field generated traffic by approximately 18 vehicles per <br />hour between 4 PM and dusk, and increase traffic by approximately 55 vehicles per hour between <br />dusk and 10:30 PM. <br /> Because of the grid network of streets surrounding Red Morton Community Park, the additional trips <br />are expected to use a variety of routes to travel to and from the parking lots and commonly used <br />drop-off/pick-up locations near Mitchell Field.
