MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br /> A. Update on Activities of Redwood City International - <br /> Councilwoman La Berge gave an oral report on Sister City activities in Redwood City <br /> and described Zhuhai, China, Redwood City's first Sister City. Councilwoman La Berge <br /> advised that Redwood City was honored two years ago to receive the first modern art <br /> exhibit to leave China, due to its Sister City relationship with Zhuhai. <br /> Councilwoman La Berge announced that Redwood City International was seeking a <br /> second Sister City, and with our large Hispanic population in Redwood City, hoped to find <br /> a Sister City in Mexico. Councilwoman La Berge welcomed community participation in <br /> the meeting of Redwood City International scheduled for February 11, 1995,9 A.M. to 1 <br /> P.M., to begin the search and set criteria on how to select the new Sister City. <br /> Councilwoman Howard stated she would definitely attend. <br /> Mayor Gasparini suggested that Fair Oaks Community Center Coordinator Magda <br /> Gonzales and other Hispanic community leaders be invited to participate. <br /> MINUTE BOOK NO. 53 Special Council Meeting Minutes <br /> Page No. 048 January 30, 1995 <br /> Page 6 <br />
