Report from the Council Ad Hoc Subcommittee recommending changes to the <br /> recruitment, interview and appointment process of Council board, committees and <br /> commissions. (209) <br /> REPORT: City Clerk, February 27, 1995 <br /> CouncilwomanlChairperson Buchan presented the staff report, advising that the <br /> Council had been looking for ways to encourage more people to apply to the Council- <br /> appointed boards, committees and commissions, and in response to feedback from recent <br /> applicants the Subcommittee had met and made several recommendations. Chairwoman <br /> Buchan added that the new application would include a welcoming letter from the <br /> Council. <br /> Councilman Sanfilipo asked that the application contain a more specific question <br /> regarding qualifications to serve on a board, committee or commission. <br /> Councilwoman Steinfeld recommended that the optional questions regarding gender <br /> and ethnicity (requested by the City's Affirmative Action and Equal Employment <br /> Opportunity Officer for data purposes only) be removed from the front page and put on a <br /> separate page at the end of the application, to avoid any confusion as to their optional <br /> status. <br /> MINUTE BOOK NO. 53 <br /> Regular Meeting Minutes Page No. 069 <br /> February 27, 1995 <br /> Page 4 <br />
