QUESTION AND ANSWER PERIOD <br /> Council Members thanked the departments for their presentations and commented on the <br /> teamwork between so many departments; the great benefits the City will derive from the <br /> new rubber cape seal technology and application; and the need to keep exploring ways to <br /> make CalTrans and CalTrain more responsive to the City's needs. <br /> City Manager Everett reiterated staff s commitment to devise a process that will bridge <br /> the gap between the need for meeting the warrants criteria and the need for addressing the <br /> perceptions of the residents as well as the factual criteria. City Manager Everett advised <br /> that in the future the boards, committees, commissions and Neighborhood Association co- <br /> chairs would be involved in the preparation and presentation at study sessions. <br /> Council Members discussed the need to eliminate an "either/or" approach and develop <br /> creative alternatives to continuing concerns such as traffic devices and meeting state warrant <br /> criteria; the need to gain control over traffic signaling on state routes, El Camino Real and <br /> Woodside Road; increasing the services provided by the sheriff s work furlough program; <br /> and having judges assign juveniles and adults to community service programs in the City <br /> for painting and other traffic and street programs. <br /> 5.A.
