Mr. Leong responded that he <br /> previously owned his own business in San Francisco and prior to that he ran a <br /> nightclub. Mr. Yen stated he has about 5 years experience in the restaurant business in <br /> San Francisco. <br /> Councilwoman Steinfeld verified that Mr. Leong has been in Redwood City for four <br /> months acting as Manager. Mr. Yen stated that he had previously worked at Natori's <br /> (which is now the House of Buffet) for 1 1/2 years and the partnership dissolved. <br /> City Attorney Schricker asked Mr. Yen and Mr. Leong if they had attended the <br /> Zoning Administrator's hearing and Mr. Yen responded that he was present. City <br /> Attorney Schricker asked Mr. Yen what he represented to the Zoning Administrator <br /> as the closing time of the restaurant. Mr. Yen stated he could not recall discussing the <br /> closing time of the restaurant. City Attorney Schricker stated that the application he <br /> submitted listed the operating hours from 5 p.m. to 12 a.m. and asked Mr. Yen ifhe <br /> submitted any change of hours between the time of the application and the time of the <br /> Zoning Administrator's hearing. Mr. Yen responded that he had not. City Attorney <br /> Schricker clarified that Mr. Yen had applied for an application with operating hours <br /> from 5 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. The Zoning Administrator was under the impression that <br /> Mr. Yen had applied for a closing time beyond midnight and the findings revealed 2:30 <br /> a.m. City Attorney Schricker verified with Mr. Yen that he was applying for a <br /> closing time past midnight during the Zoning Administrator's hearing. <br /> Mayor Gasparini clarified that the application requested operating hours until 12:00 <br /> a.m. on Friday and Saturday and the business plan states 1 :30 a.m. Friday and <br /> Saturday. <br /> Councilwoman Buchan referred to the letter oflntent to Appeal dated April 12, 1995 <br /> signed by Mr. Yen.
