(905) <br /> REPORT: Mayor Gasparini, November 6, 1995 <br /> Mayor Gasparini called on Joe Steinfeld who had submitted a Speaker's Card regarding <br /> this item. <br /> Joe Steinfeld, candidate for Council, 850 Main Street, expressed his opposition to the <br /> recommendation for a six months severance clause in the City Manager's contract, and <br /> expressed surprise and dismay that the Council considered department heads a labor group <br /> (Executive Service), bringing the total in the City to six. <br /> Councilman Sanfilipo, candidate for Council, suggested that in the future, a <br /> recommendation from any Council subcommittee be brought back to the full Council <br /> under Matters of Council Interest for a discussion by all Council Members, and the <br /> decision finalized at the following meeting. <br /> MEMO 11/7/95 <br /> Council discussed the various severancelbuy out packages offered by neighboring <br /> jurisdictions to their City Managers, including Menlo Park's severance provision that the <br /> "Council can take no action for 90 days after an election (a cooling down period.") <br /> Councilwoman Steinfeld expressed opposition to any severance package during these <br /> times of financial constraints. <br /> Adjourned Regular Meeting Minutes MINUTE BOOK NO. 53 <br /> Page No. 417 <br /> November 6, 1995 <br /> Page 7 <br /> -" .a "'-"-"'.......--..-....
