The following people addressed the Council: <br />Speaking against the approval of a Use Permit to allow a 24,000 square <br />foot County Office use at 1260-90 Oddstad for reasons of danger from <br />trucks and other traffic to children and families, lack of adequate <br />parking, additional parking impacts on existing businesses, <br />inappropriate placement of service facility in an industrial area, and <br />the unwanted change to the industrial nature of the area: <br />Walter Moore, 229 Hillview, Redwood City, representing Guckenheimer <br />Enterprises, Inc.; <br />Steve Bailey, 728 Elm, San Carlos; <br />Ronda Ball of Hansen Management, 1205-1295 Veterans and 1490-1496 <br />Oddstad; <br />Cathy Crossgrove, Oddstad property owner; <br />Keith Doerge, representing owners of 1492 Oddstad; <br />Robert Fernandes, General Manager of Auto Parts Club; <br />Paul Gardener, 1167 Oddstad; <br />Jim Kreager, 1475-85 Veterans; <br />June Peterson, 1450 Oddstad Drive, who also referenced the petitions <br />submitted to Council with 333 signatures against this Use Permit; <br />Cecil Smith, Casa de Redwood; <br />Mr. William Jackson, representing the County described the need for a <br />larger facility to replace the existing one at 999 Main Street, and the <br />described the areas inside the building planned to accommodate the <br />children and families that will visit the facility. Mr. Jackson <br />described the full time monitor that would be on the premises at all <br />times to monitor parking and other uses, and promised that the County <br />could be a good neighbor. <br />4.
