-- _v 1\f
member-agency UWMPs in order to provide consistency between agencies that rely on
SFPUC supply. EKI recommends that the City consider leveraging BAWSCA's and
SFPUC's efforts in (1) interpreting the updated UWMP Act requirements, (2) developing
updated water supply reliability estimates, including with respect to climate change
impacts, (3) developing common language fo the UWMPs, (4) preparing letter
templates for noticing purposes, and (5)developing other information relevant to the
2015 UWMP preparation.
While at BAWSCA, Ms. Dutton drafted much of the common language that was used for
the 2010 UWMPs. As a result, EKI thoroughly understands the type of information the
City can expect to receive from BAWSCA and the SFPUC, including:
• Description of BAWSCA,
• Description of the Regional Water Conseroation programs,
• Description of Long-Term Reliable Water Supply Strategy,
• SFPUC Water Supply Language,
Description of SFPUC Regional Water System,
Description of Water System Improvement Plan,
• Description of 2009 Water Supply Agreement,
• Description of Individual Supply Guarantees,
• Description of Tier 1 and Tier 2 Drought Allocations,
• Climate Change,and
• Description of the 2018 Interim Supply Allocations
This common language and other information is unlikely to be available prior to winter
2015. EKI will work with the City to coordinate development of its 2015 UWMP relative
to the availability of the regional information.
• Conductine Onlv Mlnor Revision to SBX7-7 Assessment: Pursuant to SBX7-7,the City's
2015 UWMP will need to provide the City's baseline water use, compliance water use,
and water use targets for 2015 and 2020. Given that the City is currently well below the
water use target established in the 2010 UWMP, limited additional analyses will be
required.
5.3 Proposed Scope of Work
A number of issues were identified in previous sections that provide context for the preparation
of the Cits 2015 UWMP. EKI's scope of work and the associated tasks have been developed to
emphasize the coordinated development of the 2015 UWMP through a workshop-based
approach, which is reflected in our scope of work below. Significant assumptions regarding our
proposed scope of work are included at the end of this section.
Page 16
Redwood City Public Works Services Department 2015 UWMP (EKI BS-078)
ATTY/AGR.2015.248/EKI - Development of 2015 Urban Water Management Plan
